Oh the shame! Old Scotia’s Grandeur and Erin’s Pride besmirched! How could I sink so low as to be influenced by a mere purrvincial rag? (Apologies to ST, put it down to too much liqueur and feline hyperbole).
There I was enjoying a private quaff, as I thought, and all the while the pussaratzi were bent (oh how true!) on entering my inner sanctum and snapping every tail&whiskertwitch, every choke&heave.

OMG FC, is that a serious story? Must be the fresh air in Shetland… but I see the drinking culture has already spread to Orkney. I’m sure your fpu was utterly delighted with your entry in the competition and praised you accordingly

A purely personal opinion here … those who take big cats for a walk should wear protective clothing … to ensure two seconds before the big bite draws blood! Little cats are different … they just don’t have the stomach for many ordinary things

There used to be a time when printing (publishing) photos was quite expensive, and thus people showed more discretion. Photos of labs, Brittanys and such were displayed in the better households, and some made their way to galleries and such. Ever saw your betters (eh?) shooting over a cat? Of course not. They might shoot at a cat, but then would naturally hush it up. These days, the world is going to the cats.
Did you ever see a cat daft enough to a) hang about long enough to be shot over and b) simple enough to go fetch the dead thing it then won’t even get to eat? No. I thought not! Catz Rool!

No steady retriever cat has yet been invented. I have seen what I would have bet was a cat as roadkill, but wife thought it was more likely a possum, or a striped skunk. Reminds me of the sign by the hamburger joint near Yellowstone, Wyoming: “Home of the Roadkill burger.” Wyoming residents are a tough lot: you have to be with the winters they enjoy.
